Green Sand Beach

Geoff and I hiked out to see the Green Sand Beach which is a 3 mile hike from South Point, Hawaii. Helen and Kim hiked in the same direction, but didn't make it all the way. This is a beach make of olivine. The exciting thing for two dust geeks like Geoff and I is that olivine is the dust analog for interstellar silicates. Great stuff!
